Armin van Buuren & AVIRA Complete ‘Hollow Mask Illusion’ EP Trilogy
One of the most pleasant surprises of this year has come from label boss Armin van Buuren and Armada Music’s treasure AVIRA. The two went on to produce “Hollow” featuring Be No Rain and “Illusion” – both songs of impeccable proportions. Today, they have revealed “Mask” featuring Sam Martin as the third and final addition to the trilogy; now taking form as the Hollow Mask Illusion EP.
“Mask” is yet another transcendent piece by Armin and AVIRA. The song strikes goosebumps at its first holy notes, echoing cinematic and profound tones throughout its near 9-minute duration. The intensely beautiful build up is a pure orchestra of sound, reminiscent of countless Armin classics. Arranged with exquisite detail, the entrancing craftsmanship simply pours out. Those familiar with the ambient pieces by AVIRA will be no stranger to the philharmonic sounds gushing from “Mask.” The track also clocks in as the third link-up between Armin and singer-songwriter Sam Martin, following “Wild Wild Son” and “Miles Away.”
“The ‘Mask EP’ is where we leave it all on the table. Getting to work with a pioneer of our scene really puts into perspective the impact we could have with these records, so as lovers of everything dance music, we tried to bridge the gap between all genres. Whether you listen to techno, trance or anything in between, I hope you can discover a piece of Armin and myself in this EP.” – AVIRA
“Music has always been an outlet for me to pour my emotions into and now I have found a way to do this with words as well. To me, this track is the perfect conclusion of this awesome EP with AVIRA.” – Armin van Buuren
A ring leader of bridging gaps between genres, Armin never ceases to amaze the world with additions to his artillery of extraordinary records. The Hollow Mask Illusion EP fits into this theme like magic. Connecting with AVIRA for “Hollow,” “Illusion,” and “Mask,” the world now sees a marvelous odyssey of music that stands the test of time.
