Au5 Debuts Entrancing ‘Divinorum’ LP After Three Years in the Making
Today we’re delivering you a heavy dose of electronically charged bass with the debut of Au5’s Divinorum LP. Set some time aside for this one as we’re positive this is a journey like no other.
Divinorum is a deep sonic exploration configured by sprawling beats, ethereal vocals, entrancing soundscapes, and technical bass. The ten-track LP has been three years in the making, slowly taking shape from Au5’s internal experiences and innermost thoughts, ultimately creating a soundtrack that explores a chasing of sound.
Beginning with “Stargate” featuring Tasha Baxter, Divinorum tells a story as a thought-provoking piece of work strung with inner complexities and a heavy, emotive, pace. The title track featuring Nori radiates through the speakers with a sparkling riff pattern and dynamic energy. You may also have heard the other two singles released leading to the album’s arrival, which are “Mesmerize” featuring Bella Musser and “Dragonfly” featuring Alden Groves.
“Stargate,’ to me, is about the acknowledgement of our shortcomings, mortality, and flaws. With that acceptance, we realize the boundless potential that awaits once we “let go” of our attachment to ideas that hold us back. In the context of the album, it defines approaching the point where we are able to transform ourselves and break through into the divine realm.” – Au5
A well-rounded composer, Au5 (born Austin Collins) has been a musician since age four as a classically trained pianist. From there he moved on to study bass guitar and music production, leading to his thorough understanding of musical technology and production. We’re excited to witness (and listen to) more of Au5’s boundless journey as he continues to impress us with his skillful releases.
Au5 shares his final thoughts stating, “Divinorum in this context translates to ‘[things] of the divine.’ The album is about a journey traversing through a series of different realms beyond reality.”
