Bridges for Music Returns to ADE with 230KM Charity Cycle
Non-profit organisation and record label Bridges for Music is set to return to Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) this October for the 9th edition of its continually anticipated annual 230KM charity cycle. Uniting the dance music community under a shared vision of social change, this year’s ride will once again bring together industry leaders, artists, and music lovers to raise crucial funds for creative education programs in South Africa.
Having cemented its reputation over the last number years with impactful change, the ADE cycle has seen participation from leading names such as Richie Hawtin, Parallelle, Maga, Joris Voorn, Chris Liebing, Pan-Pot, Juliet Fox, and Jamiee. Thanks to the ADE Cycle, Bridges For Music has raised £350k+ to build a state of the art music academy in Langa Township (South Africa) for young students living in under-resourced communities.
Powered by AlphaTheta and in partnership with ADE, all proceeds from the event will go toward expanding Bridges for Music’s programs, including the construction of a new facility for younger children in need. Additionally, funds will support the after-school program, which offers children aged 8-18 access to creative education in music, dance, and mindfulness.
This year’s challenge introduces two stage options from London to Amsterdam, offering participants a journey through the UK, Belgium, and the Netherlands. Riders can expect Stage 1: London – Harwich (135km, 950m elevation, hilly terrain) and Stage 2: Hook of Holland – Amsterdam (95km, 338m elevation, flat terrain). Departing from the Resident Advisor HQ in Shoreditch on Tuesday, October 21st, the two stage ride will culminate in Amsterdam on Wednesday, October 22nd, just in time for ADE.
“Simply put, this is a life-changing experience! I keep saying, I’m not sure there is any other way I want to arrive at ADE. If you are thinking about doing it—just do it! You will be supported every km, mile, and inch of the way.” – Jamie Kemp, (Director of Toolroom Records)
Beyond fundraising, the ride also champions sustainability. By opting for cycling over flights, participants will collectively save approximately 8,750kg of CO2 emissions – an impactful step toward reducing the carbon footprint of travel to ADE. In return for supporting the cause and making an environmentally conscious journey to ADE, riders will receive an ADE Pro Pass, ferry travel & sleeping arrangements, guided tour support, luggage transport, all meals, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and energy snacks, an official ADE cycling jersey, and a bike return service to London. The entry fee starts at €720 which includes fundraising contributions.
The ride welcomes cyclists of all abilities. Participants can select a pace group suited to their skill level—averaging 30km/h, 26km/h, or 22km/h – with support vehicles, expert cycling guides, and professional cyclists, including Team GB Olympians, accompanying the journey. Those unable to commit to the full ride are invited to join for a single stage. For those without their own bike, rentals can be arranged. Additionally, corporate sponsorship packages are available, offering businesses the opportunity to feature their logo on the official ADE rider kit and gain exposure across event coverage as a team sponsor.
Bridges for Music upholds the highest standards of safety, with Tour de France paramedics and seasoned professionals ensuring rider security every step of the way.
“It is our honour to sponsor the Bridges for Music cycle to ADE once again. Activities like this encourage participants to engage their physical and mental well-being—something incredibly powerful and healing. Aligning these elements in a dynamic group fosters a sense of community, raises awareness, and generates crucial funds for this transformative initiative. If you’ve ever been tempted, now is your chance—this will be the most fulfilling and exhilarating thing you do this year!” – Keleigh Batchelor (Marketing Manager at AlphaTheta EMEA)
Proceeds from this year’s ADE cycle will directly impact key projects, including the Creative Club, increasing the number of children supported daily by the program, providing access to music and arts education, funding furniture and resources for the Creative Club’s new building, further expanding its capacity, and adding more students to Bridges for Music’s programs, with each participant receiving year-long support.
