Charlotte De Witte Brought The Heat To NYC With Massive KNTXT Takeover
It’s no mystery that Charlotte De Witte is building an empire with her extraordinary KNTXT imprint. The Belgian DJ and producer has captured the hearts of millions of techno enthusiasts from across the globe, so much so that she was offered the main stage slot at Ultra Music Festival in Miami earlier this year.
Amid her ongoing North American Tour, Charlotte De Witte recently brought her reputable KNTXT label parties to the city that never sleeps. Aside from her two scheduled nights at the renowned Brooklyn Mirage, the techno queen also surprised her tri-state fans with various pop-up merch events and a stellar street release party in lower Manhattan the days leading up to both shows.
Following all the hype surrounding her one-of-a-kind street performance, Charlotte De Witte absolutely slayed her two-night, doubleheader performances at the nation’s leading electronic dance music venue. Located in the heart of Brooklyn’s thriving dance music scene, The Brooklyn Mirage was the perfect locale to host a techno soiree of this magnitude.
On Thursday, May 18, Brooks went b2b with Hiroko Yamamura, and the legendary Chris Liebing warmed up the decks before Charlotte de Witte took over the rest of the evening with a special extended set. As one of our favorite Brooklyn Mirage sets of all time, the KNTXT label boss did not miss a beat all night long.
The Friday, May 19 lineup presented more of KNTXT Konnected, a concept curated to allow the label’s many affluent artists to take over the decks with exclusive B2B sets. Friday night’s late-night show included iconic sets from Charlotte de Witte, Indira Paganotto, and ONYVAA. It was incredible to witness Charlotte De Witte’s musical versatility and her genuine connection and appreciation of her fellow label co-stars.
From spontaneous street sets to explosive performances at Brooklyn Mirage and more, it’s safe to say that Charlotte De Witte brought the heat to the city of dreams in every way possible. With so much more to come from the flourishing techno icon, we can’t wait for her grand return to New York City as she’s definitely left her mark here this time around.
