Coachella 2020, Stagecoach Cancelled Following Statement From Goldenvoice
Those of you who were looking forward to Coachella’s rescheduled October event will have to hold onto their tickets — or postpone Couchella — until 2021.
A statement came from Goldenvoice and their parent company AEG Presents, following AEG layoffs earlier this week. Read the full statement on the Coachella 2020 cancellation, below:
The public health officer for Riverside County, Cameron Kaiser, made an announcement on Wednesday in a public health order that Coachella 2020 would be canceled for this year. Kaiser stated, “This order is issued as a result of the worldwide epidemic of COVID-19 disease,” the order reads. “This order is issued based on concerns of a fall resurgence of COVID-19 both within the County of Riverside and worldwide.” He went on to say that “the scope and number of attendees and the nature of the venue would make it infeasible, if not impossible, to track those who may be placed at risk.”
As of now, it is expected that many, if not all of those scheduled to perform will be asked back to return in 2021. Stay tuned for further details as they are announced. Those on the bill for Coachella 2020 were Rage Against the Machine, Calvin Harris, Travis Scott, Frank Ocean, Lana Del Rey, Run the Jewelz, Disclosure, Louis the Child, Lil Uzi Vert, and many more.
For now, fans can watch the Coachella: 20 Years in the Desert documentary, which was released as a YouTube original earlier this year.
