CRSSD Festival Announces Return to Waterfront Park with a Stacked Phase One Lineup
Southern California’s CRSSD Fest announced its much-anticipated return last week with an insane first phase line-up featuring the likes of Kaytranada, ZHU, Camelphat, and more. Returning to the idyllic Waterfront Park located in the heart of San Diego, the fan-favorite event will take place over September 25-26, 2021. With next-level live production, a top-tier venue, and more artists to be announced- this edition of CRSSD Fest will be a guaranteed hit with house, techno, and all electronic music fans alike. Tickets go live this Tuesday at https://www.crssdfest.com/.
Known for combining both industry heads and next-generation stars alike, CRSSD Fest’s programming is consistently next-level. Spanning three stages across the grassy knolls at the Waterfront Park, each stage includes its own special line-up and vibe. The Palms stage (known for showcasing house and club pioneers), City Steps (the techno-focused haven), and Ocean View (the main stage hosting live electronic music acts)- all come together for a holy trinity of dance music.
Palms has been home to house icons over the years, with internationally renowned acts taking center stage amongst the plant-filled stage design. This fall, underground legends such as Hot Since 82, Camelphat, Chris Lorenzo, and Jamie Jones lead the pack with unmatched sets taking place over the span of the weekend. Joining them are Detroit figureheads Carl Craig and Moodymann, as well as Mood II Swing, Kerri Chandler, and Todd Terry. South Korea-born and rising star Park Hye Jin, known for her unique vocals and discography, will also perform an exclusive performance for attendees at the Palms stage.
Techno-lovers will not be left in the dark with the absolutely riveting line-up at City Steps this year. International Brazilian-born superstar ANNA will make a grand return to CRSSD Festival, amongst European techno pioneers such as Cercle-alumni Kölsch, Max Kobosil, and Paula Temple. Even more heavy-hitting performances contribute to this stage including a special b2b with Dennis Ferrer and Cassy, Township Rebellion, and South African trumpeter and producer Kareem Ali.
Ocean View, the main stage at CRSSD Fest, always holds an extremely special line-up with memorable live music performances from some of the biggest names in electronic music. Grammy-nominated KAYTRANADA and electronic figurehead Zhu will bring eclectic live dance music sets, alongside the creative jazz-fused music of Flying Lotus. The stage will also host an eclectic sunset set by techno Paul Kalkbrenner, upcoming stars Surf Mesa, and performances by Boys Noize and Jon Hopkins will keep the crowd moving all night long. Lastly, Tiga and Hudson Mohawke will make a very special debut of their rave-inspired project LOVE MINUS ZERO.
With San Diego on the rise as a house and techno epicenter, the line-up certainly does not disappoint. Since 2015, CRSSD Fest has cultivated much of the industry within the sunny city and continues to push the boundaries of genres amongst their programming. The centrally-located Waterfront Park delivers splash-friendly fountains, insane stage environments, beautiful lawns, and oceanfront sunsets that make the festival truly different from the rest. The 21+ festival also offers a full mixology program, craft beer and food vendors, with the Amtrak Station nearby. Tickets go on sale here tomorrow, July 13, for Alumni at 11PT.
