Dillon Francis Drops Anticipated ‘This Mixtape Is Fire TOO’ Album
From jokester to master – Dillon Francis just released his 4th studio album, This Mixtape Is Fire TOO – and it does not disappoint. When Francis first dropped “LA On Acid” in July of this year, there’s no denying it was on repeat for over a month straight. It was just then he released “Free” the following month, which was then superceeded by “On a Trip.” I said to myself: This guy is about to drop a new album and it’s going to be very different from what we are used to.
Francis starts off his album This Mixtape Is Fire TOO, with his classic drum and bass/progressive house style that we are all familiar with, then slowly easing into other styles of music from nu disco, to deep house to tech-house with even a bit of melodic. Collaborating with some of the best producers in the scene including: Alesso, and ILLENIUM, this 14-track track LP — available now through Astralwerks/IDGAFOS — goes hard, and has something for everyone.
To coincide with the release of the new LP, we finally get to experience the the music video for “LA On Acid,” with Good Times Ahead. Directed by Parker Seaman, starring in the video is Euphoria’s Chloe Cherry, and Eric Warheim, alongside Righteous Gemstones‘, Tony Cavalero and Francis’ good friend Diplo.
Dillon Francis will be taking over three nights at various locations in Los Angeles this weekend. He played Thursday November 30th at The Roxy in West Hollywood – where he also played a set from his alter ego DJ Hanzel. He’ll also be playing Friday December 1st at The Mayan in Downtown LA with a rare moombahton set and last but certainly not least, ending on Saturday December 2nd at the magnificent and historic Shrine with friends in Downtown LA.
