Electric Blockaloo Revamps into Rave Family Block Fest: Virtual Minecraft Festival With 850 Artists, 65 Hosted Stages From July 9-12th
Electric Blockaloo has now revamped itself to Rave Family Block Fest, and will now take place from July 9th-12th. The festival has revealed the full lineup for the virtual electronic music Minecraft Festival. The biggest virtual event to date — and perhaps the biggest music festival in history — offers over 850 artists across 65 hosted stages.
So, who exactly is part of this massive event? To name a few: MK, Bob Moses, Steve Aoki, Galantis, Rudimental, ZHU, Louis The Child, The Knocks, Lane 8, Ekali, Seth Troxler, Paris Hilton, Maya Jane Coles, Kevin Saunderson, Felix da Housecat, Skream, Claptone, Claude VonStroke, Nicole Moudaber, KSHMR, A-Track, Maceo Plex, Jamie Jones, Jauz, Nora En Pure, TOKiMONSTA, and many, many more (over 800 more, precisely).
The not-so-average festival takes places from 10am – 6am EST daily and is available to those ages 18 and over. For more info visit Rave Family Block Fest Facebook.
Ticket prices begin at $10 and will include access to the festival for the debut weekend, as well as three special encore weekends for those fans who can’t see all 65 stages at once. VIP add-ons, which start at $15, include access to exclusive worlds, stages, and artist sets! VIPs will also get free access to Early Arrival and Group Camping. Group Camping will allow virtual attendees to build the festival campsite of their choosing, and win prizes for their creation by sharing on social media — including a secret DJ set from one of the festival headliners.
To ensure that rights holders are paid for the use of their music in the festival, Rave Family Block Fest has partnered with streaming platform Mixcloud. Rave Family CEO Jackie McGuire explains:
“One of the biggest challenges for digital festivals is making sure that artists are compensated for the use of their music. We knew that in order to create a sustainable digital music event platform, we had to take care of that. With their advanced content ID system and unique music licenses, Mixcloud has been a great partner and we are excited to be leading the movement to pay artists fairly.”
To further immerse attendees in the digital music festival experience, Rave Family Block Fest attendees will also be brought together via Discord, an online chat platform where Loozers can communicate and meet up with friends and new avatars they meet in the game.
Rave Family Block Fest will be available on both java and Bedrock versions of Minecraft, so fans can play on desktop or mobile. For music fans unfamiliar with Minecraft, the Rave Family Training Camp will be available to ticket holders in the run-up to the festival where users can learn how to navigate, use special items, and even swim.
The festival has partnered with various organizations that festival-goers can donate to and support while purchasing their ticket or during the game itself. Beneficiaries include Black Lives Matter, The Bail Project, a national fund aimed at preventing incarceration and combating racial and economic disparities in the bail system, and ByeByePlastic, a movement to remove single-use plastics from the music industry as a whole by 2025. Rave Family Block Fest will donate 5% of its profits to each of these organizations. A partnership with HeadCount, a platform that harnesses the power of live music to stage voter registration drives, will also allow ticket buyers to register to vote during checkout.
