Electric Forest 2022: Memorable Moments, Top Sets & More

For many, a four day camping festival might seem like a lot to handle, but once you experience a festival as enchanting as Electric Forest, four days is not enough. After not being able to attend the most magical music festival to ever exist for three whole years, finally stepping foot on the Electric Forest grounds was nothing short of breathtaking.

It’s safe to say that the return of this year’s highly-anticipated production of Electric Forest completely exceeded our expectations. Everything about the extraordinary four-day soirée was absolutely perfect to say the least. From the overall festival production, music programming, vibes, camping organization, on-site food and beverage vendors, immersive activities and more, this recent Electric Forest was easily the best one yet. The magic of the Sherwood Forest was beaming on a higher frequency than ever before, and we’re honored to have been a part of the beauty of it all. 

As per usual, the wondrous festival delivered a wide array of captivating musical acts across its various eye-catching stages and incorporated a plethora of quirky, whimsical performers and out-of-the-box activities and experiences all throughout the festival grounds. No matter where we wandered, there was always something compelling enough to desire to explore further. If you’ve been to Electric Forest before, you know exactly what we mean by that.

To say that some moments were more noteworthy than others is tough because everything we experienced in the forest this past weekend was exceptionally unique and memorable in its own way. While everything we encountered encapsulated its own form of fascination and awe, there were a selection of special moments, live sets, and more that are worth highlighting. So much so, that we’re still not over how incredible this Electric Forest experience was.

One aspect of the festival that never gets old no matter how many times you attend is everyone that passes you by saying “Happy Forest”. Oh, and of course the usual “Carl” search throughout the festival grounds. The Carl search concept is one of those if you know, you know type of scenarios but it’s one of the festival’s most renowned traditions at this point. Hearing attendees shout these Electric Forest-only sayings after three long years was like a breath of fresh air.

Another memorable moment was wandering through The Hangar which is where all the bizarre, immersive activities take place and witnessing attendees speak to matchmakers to help them find their Electric Forest better half. Not to mention there was also a barber shop, a hair salon, a tattoo parlor, and more at this eccentric locale. Oh, and a brand-new al fresco stage called the Carousel Club amidst The Hangar’s chaos that added a distinct tropical touch to the rest of the festival’s forestland.

Musically speaking, there were some performances that are worth mentioning post-festival including those by Fred Again…, Porter Robinson live and his Air2Earth alias, SWAYLÓ, Tinlicker, Littlefoot, Elderbrook, Cassian, Gioli & Assia, GRiZ (Chasing The Golden Hour), and Disclosure. We’re still buzzing from these soul-stirring performances. This year, there were also a few surprise sets that took place throughout the festival like John Summit and Subtronics playing a legendary b2b set at the campground afterparties on Friday and Porter Robinson spontaneously playing on the community piano near the Grand Artique and Trading Post after his live set at Ranch Arena.

We could talk endlessly about all of our favorite Electric Forest moments but words just don’t do the magic of this place justice. They say the third time’s a charm, and as our third time attending, this was definitely the most extravagant edition of the enchanting festival yet. Electric Forest, thank you for allowing us to coexist as one under your electrifying sky. Let the countdown for Electric Forest 2023 begin.
