4Rain Releases DJ Mix for Black History Month in Historical Castle of Cape Verde

4rain is a French-born, DJ and producer who has all but secured his spot among the next generation of chart-topping dance music artists. With a refined pop, electronic sensibility and distinct club feel, 4rain curated a highly developed sonic signature that is already setting him apart. Now, for Black history month 4Rain wants to pay tribute with his DJ mix to the African slave trade that was a dark chapter in the history of humanity. 

This talented artist has gifted us with an amazing Afro house music performance in the fortress of Cidade Velha, located in Cabo Verde. Combining the electronic and contemporary sounds of Africa, 4rain has crafted a performance that drowned upon the city’s cultural and historical heritage. With a passionate commitment to their craft, 4rain is sure to captivate audiences and leave them with an unforgettable experience.

” It was a must for me to pay tribute to my roots and my history. I felt a lot of energy during those 1 hour of mix and I went through a lot of emotion. Cidade Velha is a city full of history. There’s a lot to know about this place in Cape Verde . I therefore want to thank the people who were present and the local authority who have allowed this event to take place” – 4Rain

This castle also symbolizes the transatlantic slave trade. It is a testament to the power of this place that it has been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In this same city, traces of history are still there with the presence of a gallows. It is important to know that it is in this emblematic place that it was revealed to Christopher Columbus, the maritime current to reach America, before he discovered it in turn.

4rain was incredibly brave and compassionate to bring light to this incredibly important location in European and African history, connected to the Transatlantic slave trade and the route to the Americas. It is a testament to the power of this place that it has been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2009, and it should be remembered and celebrated for its historic significance. In this same city, the traces of history are still there with the presence of a gallows reminiscent of the hanging of slaves who passed through there.
