That’s a Wrap: PAROOKAVILLE 2024 Closes its City Gates

The eighth sold-out edition of PAROOKAVILLE took place from July 19-21, 2024 at
Airport Weeze (Germany). 225,000 visitors from over 50 countries experienced an unforgettable weekend in their “City of Dreams.” Dancing to the tunes of world-class electronic all-stars like Armin van Buuren, Robin Schulz, Hardwell, Steve Aoki, Paul Kalkbrenner and many more.

For the first time, around half of the 45,000 campers had already arrived, starting on Wednesday, and the two days of arrival went smoothly. On each of the three festival days, 75,000 citizens populated the City of PAROOKAVILLE. The area was expanded this year to create the new “Theater District” with shows and live performances.

On Wednesday evening up to 12,000 campers at the same time at the Silent Disco at the PENNY DJ Tower, the traditional PreParty took place on Thursday evening in the PENNY Square and in Desert Valley. Rising electronic superstar John Summit was a guest in PAROOKAVILLE for the first time this year. The acclaimed DJ and producer, who just headlined a massive sold-out show at NYC’s famed Madison Square Garden, played his only Germany show on Friday in Desert Valley.

On the impressive main stage, which this year has the motto “Bill’s Green House” impressed, the fans celebrated with Steve Aoki, Timmy Trumpet, Armin van Buuren, Robin Schulz, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike and many more. There was musical variety on Sunday Bill’s Factory with Ski Aggu, Alexander Marcus and Heino, among others. The ING live stream reached several million people with over 100 hours of broadcasts from the City of Dreams.

PAROOKAVILLE delights citizens with various special appearances
Since this year’s European Cup, saxophonist Andre Schnura has become a major presence on social media. He and his sax travelled throughout Germany entertaining hundreds of thousands of fans at Euro Cup match locations. This led directly to an invitation by mega-star Timmy Trumpet and the Dutch EDM duo W&W to appear with them live on the PAROOKAVILLE Mainstage for an audience of some 50,000 people celebrating out front.

The food choices in the city ranged from snacks to street food to burgers and sweets. Steve Aoki and his pizza concept “Pizzaoki” are regulars by now, joined this year by Alle Farben and Robin Schulz presenting culinary concepts of their own. All three stars visited their food stations either before or after their performances. Robin Schulz even played a surprise 30-minute set before his show on the main stage.

There was yet another Secret Gig on Sunday night. Shortly after midnight, CUPRA Deutschland and PAROOKAVILLE surprised the Citizens with a premiere as the roof of the CUPRA Wacky Shack transformed into another stage exclusively for the band Tokio Hotel. Attendees spontaneously celebrated the Kaulitz brothers and their band and the spectacular finale of the festival after five days of lunacy, love and pure joy.

In addition to the extraordinary musical line-up, PAROOKAVILLE Citizens can also discover an entire city. Its unique features include the Warsteiner Church, which celebrated one official wedding along with over 3,000 Festival Weddings.

Upon entering the grounds, attendees picked up their stamped PAROOKAVILLE passports at the Town Hall. They could then cool off again this year in temps reaching up to 33°C at the City’s own 700m² outdoor swimming pool. The PENNY Vegan Kitchen served over 3,000 vegan dishes, while the PENNY Stores at the campsite moved some 100 tonnes of ice cubes. ING Deutschland made the day of some lucky Citizens who competed at the site and won access to its five-meter tall viewing platform with a perfect view of the main stage.

PAROOKAVILLE celebrates its 10th anniversary next year from July 18-20, 2025.
