Nocturnal Times: Now that 2019 has come to a close, how did the last year of the decade treat you and your music career? What have been your favorite music-related memories over the last year?

Cedric Gervais: It’s been an amazing year – one highlight was premiering my remix of DJ Snake’s “Loco Contigo” at Tomorrowland mainstage with David Guetta.

Nocturnal Times: You were on the lineup for Creamfields this past summer, can you tell us more about your experience performing at the popular U.K. festival?

Cedric Gervais: Creamfields is one of the best festivals in the world. It was an incredible experience playing over the summer and I can’t wait to come back and do it again.

Nocturnal Times: Would you say that the music scene in the European countries differs from the music scene here in the states? If so, why do you think that is?

Cedric Gervais: There’s definitely a difference – in Europe, techno and house and progressive house dominate but here in the states bass music is very popular. In the last year or so though tech house has been growing and I think will take over very soon.

Nocturnal Times: With your many residencies, you’ve had a lot of club appearances all over the globe throughout the year. Would you say that you prefer that more intimate nightclub vibe over a larger crowd at a music festival?

Cedric Gervais: I prefer a more intimate, club vibe since I get to play longer sets and really connect with the audience.

Nocturnal Times: Should we expect to see your name on more music festival lineups in the near future or do you think you’ll stick more with grand club performances all over the world?

Cedric Gervais:  Both – I like finding a balance between doing the big festivals and smaller club shows.

Nocturnal Times: Tell us more about your latest track, “Hey You” with Dope Lemon. It has a very distinct sound to your usual work, what inspired the track’s melody and your desire to work with Dope Lemon in particular?

Cedric Gervais: When I heard the original, it was such a special record and I was really inspired by the vocal and how unique the record was. Immediately knew I wanted to remix it and put my own spin on it.

Nocturnal Times: With a brand-new year ahead of us, are there any unreleased projects in the works that you’d like to share with us?

Cedric Gervais: I have a new edit coming out of my earlier hit “Spirit in my Life” on Ultra top of next year, that I’m really excited for you guys to hear.

Nocturnal Times: For the remainder of 2020, is there anything in particular that you’re hoping to prioritize in terms of your music career? What is your biggest goal for next year?

Cedric Gervais: In 2020 I plan to continue putting out records consistently and keep finding new places to tour, and reach new audiences. And I have some exciting collaborations in the works, stay tuned!
