Lastlings Recruits GURPAAL & jamesjamesjames for Official “First Contact” Remixes 

Australian-Japanese power-duo Lastlings finally released the long-awaited final remixes for their album First Contact last week and impressive is an understatement. Released on both Astralwerk Records and RÜFÜS DU SOL’s Rose Avenue records, lo-fi pioneer jamesjamesjames and rising-star GURPAAL deliver lovely re-works of “Visions” and “Held Under.” Available now in its entirety on all streaming platforms, First Contact: The Remixes transports listeners to a dreamy re-imagination of the all-embracing original album. 

Originally hailing from Beverly Hills, jamesjamesjames has emerged at the forefront of electronic music with his unique genre-crossing lo-fi sounds mixed with melodic undertones. His remix of “Visions” brings the album a late-night masterpiece that is sure to impress listeners across the globe. Staying true to his nostalgic sound, comes a piece that sheds new light on the original song and lyrics. Giving all the feels within the nine-minute track, the producer does a magical job of reimagining this emotion-filled track with heavy percussion and light lo-fi synths.
