Marshmello Drops Summer Album Sequel, ‘Joytime II’
Marshmello fans can finally rest at ease as our favorite celeb has finally unleashed his highly-anticipated album sequel, Joytime II. The follow up to 2016’s Joytime, this 9-track, hype album features more classic Mello beats to satisfy all the Mellogang’s celebratory needs.
A legendary sensation still on the rise, Marshmello has seen his career take off to remarkable heights over the last couple of years. Coming out of the woodworks and immediately gaining major worldwide attention with the unique and delightful stage presence he has created, Mello has successfully garnered a massive following of dedicated music lovers from all ends of the spectrum.
By this point, his trendy all-white getups and signature bucket helmet are instantly recognizable all around the world – even by those who are not necessarily involved in the dance music scene. With four Top 40 hits in the last seven months and upwards of 2 billion total streams, Christopher Comstock aka Marshmello has certainly made an iconic name for himself in a very short period of time. His fun and quirky social media existence have also significantly contributed to establishing himself as a household name.
A man of many talents, Comstock actually has been outputting tracks that feature his own vocals as well. Surprised? We were too! His recent collaboration with Slushii on “There x2” boasts his alternative-sounding vocals, which you can also pick out on “You & Me,” and Joytime II’s “Rooftops” and “Paralyzed.” It seems Marshmello is the gift that keeps on giving, and we keep craving more. An all-around fun-loving character, he reminds us to not take ourselves too seriously, and to keep smiling and “do you” regardless of what others may say.
Ideal for all of the upcoming Summer festival showdowns, Joytime II hits with a huge upbeat bang. The classic groovy, synth-based, and bass-heavy sounds of Mello are intricately woven within each track, and work together to promote the perfect blend of energetic Summer bliss. The first album release “Tell Me” dropped on June 7, and the second hit the following week as “Check This Out,” leading up to the official sophomore record release last Friday, June 22nd.
This is, of course, the counterpart to the original Joytime, which features hits like “Summer,” “Find Me,” “Bounce,” and the mantra “Keep It Mello.” This time around Mello fans can enjoy even more boppy and joyous tunes to fit oh-so-perfectly into their merry Summer shenanigans. Guaranteed to shine through during each of his recent and upcoming festival season appearances, Joytime II favorites can be caught live on tour at Summerfest, Electric Forest, Electric Love, Airbeat-One, Hard Summer, Moonrise, Electric Zoo, and many more.
