Beloved superstar producer/DJ Martin Garrix (28) is the new ambassador of the Princess Máxima Center for pediatric oncology in Utrecht. The musician visited children at the cancer center on Monday and organized a special workshop for them. During his visit to the Princess Máxima Center, he was officially appointed as an ambassador.

“I think it’s fantastic what the Princess Máxima Center does for children with cancer. I know that so many children worldwide are still dying from this disease. This motivates me to contribute to the important mission of the Máxima to cure every child with cancer, with the best possible quality of life. It is an honor to be part of an organization that plays such an important role in the lives of these children.” – Martin Garrix

Childhood cancer worldwide
In the Princess Máxima Center, (inter)national experts work on the best care of today and the treatment of tomorrow for children with cancer. Healthcare professionals and researchers together have one mission: cure every child with cancer, with optimal quality of life.

Worldwide, approximately 300,000 to 400,000 children are diagnosed with childhood cancer every year. And approximately 80,000 children die from this disease every year. As a leading center in the world, the Princess Máxima Center shares knowledge and expertise through intensive international collaborations, in research, diagnostics and treatments. This is conditional on moving forward together. And that will help children with childhood cancer all over the world.

“We are extremely pleased to welcome Martin Garrix as our new ambassador. His support will help us take our mission globally and make a difference for all children with cancer. Together we can raise awareness that too many children are still dying from this disease and that there is an urgent need for better treatments. International cooperation is critical to progress and increase survival rates and improve the quality of life for children who recover.” – Rob Pieters (Board member and pediatric oncologist)
