Matt Altman’s ALT RECORDS 010 Channels J-Horror into Mesmerizing Techno

Techno-New York-based DJ and producer Matt Altman has released his 10th EP on his own label, ALT Records, titled ALT RECORDS 010.

Inspired by the Japanese horror film Ju-On: The Grudge, Altman’s 8-track project takes listeners on a soulful and mesmerizing journey. Each track weaves a variety of sounds and emotions, beginning with the eerie horror of “A Curse is Born,” progressing through the survivalist energy of “Kill It With Fire,” and culminating with “Toshio’s Wrath,” where the terror subsides, but the presence of vengeful spirits lingers. –The finale track had such intensity, that it has been played numerous times by Minnesota DJ and Producer, DVS1 at Berghain.

ALT RECORDS 010 showcases Altman’s exploration of pulsating beats and sinister melodies, presenting a darker side of techno compared to his previous EPs.

“This EP is special to me…it was heavily inspired by Ju-On: The Grudge, one of my favorite J-Horror films. Each track reflects a character, theme, or moment from the movie, featuring twisted synth lines and insatiable grooves perfect for global dance floors.”

As a Berklee College of Music alumnus, Altman fuses the improvisational finesse of jazz with the raw, driving energy of dark techno. A passionate advocate of Anime culture, Altman has carved out a unique niche within the electronic music scene, earning a reputation in the global techno community.
