NGHTMRE & A$AP Ferg’s “Redlight” Remixes by Crankdat, Effin & Holy Goof
Out now on Ultra Music is the fantastic three-piece remix EP based around NGHTMRE & A$AP Ferg’s “Redlight.” The original is already a terrific standout, and these remixes just made the track even more amplified.
Bringing extraordinarily heavy vibes to the table are Crankdat, Effin and Holy Goof. The first edit comes courtesy of Crankdat, who is newly signed to Prodigy Artists and recently collaborated with Marshmello on the wicked Joytime III. The track is incredibly energetic featuring complex and well-integrated sound design, and it definitely grabs your attention instantly on the first listen.
Effin has also just joined the Prodigy Family and served up a fresh heater for dubstep diehards. The production here is aggressive while maintaining smooth movement and strong tension-release moments throughout the track. Holy Goof nailed his debut remix of 2019 and he definitely has much more to come this year. He delivered a sharply put together bass house remix that accentuates the original’s biting vocals and high-octane energy while adding a taste of house.
NGHTMRE has evolved into a strong musical force of nature over the last several years. His extensive roster of everlasting collaborations and originals coincide with him also pioneering his own record label, Gud Vibrations. The LA-based artist has earned his position as one of bass music’s leading faces and recently collaborated with Wiz Khalifa and PnB Rock on “TTM” and has teamed up with heavyweights like Zeds Dead, Dillon Francis, Big Gigantic and The Chainsmokers.
NGHTMRE’s fast-paced, exhilarating live sets have earned him a loyal fanbase resulting in a packed tour schedule that has included a Hakkasan Las Vegas residency, Lollapalooza (Chicago, Paris, Berlin, Brazil) EDC (Las Vegas, Orlando, Mexico, Tokyo), Electric Zoo, Mysteryland, Creamfields, Amnesia Ibiza, Shambhala, Middlelands, Coachella, Ultra Music Festival, Holy Ship!, and Tomorrowland, as well as his own Gud Vibrations multi-event series with SLANDER. Through collaborations like “REDLIGHT” and his own experimental style, NGHTMRE is forging the way for a new sound of music to take over the world.
Hailing from Harlem, rapper A$AP Ferg was an ideal fit for this record because his voice adds flair to an already highly energetic song. He launched his debut album Trap Lord in 2013 and his follow up album Always Strive and Prosper in 2016. His latest project, 2017’s Still Striving mixtape, was no different: it’s simultaneously a reflection on Ferg’s artistic journey thus far and a project that has its finger on the future’s pulse. The mixtape featured his triple-platinum single “Plain Jane” among other hits. In addition to his solo career, A$AP Ferg is part of the hip hop collective A$AP Mob.
