Orkidea Takes Things Deep in his Latest ‘Pure Progressive Vol.1’ Mix

Solarstone’s renowned Pure Progressive label never fails to astound listeners with its consistently breathtaking releases. His Pure Trance movement has had a tremendous impact on the global trance scene, a movement that continues to focus on the deeper and more hypnotic side of the genre’s sound. This year, the revolutionary imprint celebrates its 100th release titled Pure Progressive Vol.1, a double-disc mix compilation crafted by the one and only Orkidea.

Orkidea is absolutely delighted to share his latest project with fellow progressive aficionados worldwide, as the creative process has given him the opportunity to reignite his passion and go back to his roots. Pure Progressive Vol.1 is actually the first compilation series on the imprint, a musical masterpiece arranged in the most creative fashion to truly exhibit the progressive mastermind’s essence to listeners. The fist disc celebrates Orkidea as an artist and producer, while the second disc celebrates DJ Orkidea’s matchless mixing skills. The entire mix is merely a representation of the Finnish legend’s extraordinary musical expertise and brings the label’s overall artistic cohort to life.

“The Artist Mix on Pure Progressive Vol 1 is essentially my new artist album in a mixed form. I’ve been working on those songs for four years and it was this weird 2020 and cancellation of all gigs which opened up the possibility to finish the album. It shows the essence of my current sound: progressive at heart and rhythm, yet trance by melody and atmosphere. Tempos are lower and basslines funkier but breakdowns as trancey and euphoric as they get. I was really happy to have my all time heroes like Way Out West and Deepsky giving permission to release remixes of their classic songs. The first disc, The Artist Mix, portrays Orkidea’s impeccable production sound from the past few years and features fresh singles like “Forward Forever” and “Metta” alongside unheard exclusive re-works of classics like Deepsky’s “Cosmic Dancer” and Paul Oakenfold’s “Only Us.” The later disc, The DJ Mix, mirrors Orkidea’s live set compositions exquisitely, similar to those he’s revealed at grand events like EDC, Amsterdam Dance Event, Luminosity, and Transmission. He shares the spotlight on this second mix with other substantial progressive artists in the game currently like Yotto, Grum, Paul Thomas, gardenstate, Forerunners, Allende and many others.

All together, Pure Progressive Vol. 1 illustrates the what’s what in the current world of progressive in the most influential manner.
