Shöckface Connects with Lauren Martinez for “death of me”
Ahead of his forthcoming debut EP WAR WITH MYSELF (out May 21st), multi-talented producer Shöckface released a second single of this EP. For this amazing release he rekindled the creative relationship with the acclaimed singer songwriter Lauren Martinez. Together these powerhouses dropped their new collaboration called “death of me.”
Shöckface embodies the spirit of genre evolution. He has the ability to transcend in all electronic realms which makes him stand out. This collaboration embodies the closure of mental, physical and emotional struggle. Lauren enchants listeners singing “Smoke through the window, wish it could be you though, taste the bittersweet in my tongue, you’ll be the death of me.” It is this fusing of Lauren’s crooning topline with an upbeat experimental rhythm that makes this one haunting track. Nevertheless Shöckface tethers forward thinking sound design fits perfectly with Lauren’s indie pop style.
“death of me came about after some closure in a chapter of my life where I was going through real difficult emotional and mental hardships.I met up with Lauren while I was in LA one day and we had given the record new direction. It’s always been so much fun to work on music with Lauren who is an absolute queen and super star in the making.” – Shöckface
Overall it is Lauren Martinez’s captivating vocal performance combined with Shöckface’s unorthodox take on blending pop with experimental bass that makes this a surefire crossover slam. “death of me” is out now.
