Space Yacht Releases Vigorous Compilation Series ‘Tough House Volume 1’
Leading record label, collective, and event brand Space Yacht never fails to impress fans with all their otherworldly ongoing projects. Always ahead of the curve, Space Yacht continues to revolutionize the industry as we know it by religiously thinking outside the box to deliver the most state-of-the-art melodies and productions to house music lovers across the globe. This time around, the powerhouse imprint is back with their latest project to date, Tough House Volume 1.
We had been getting a ton of submissions through our livestream A&R series that had this heavy sound. It was a new sound bubbling up out of the ashes of bass house, and we knew we wanted to be involved in pushing it to the forefront.” – LondonBridge, Co-Founder of Space Yacht
The highly-anticipated release is a vigorous 14-track compilation series intended to promote this freshly curated “tough house” subgenre to portray dirtier, heavier house sounds in a brand new light. Recognized for always recruiting the most raw, passion-driven talent for their projects, Space Yacht did exactly that with Tough House Volume 1. Those who made the cut on the alluring compilation owe thanks to the imprint’s demo submission box on their Tune Reactor Twitch stream. Ranging in sound through each intricately composed beat, every single track featured on the vivacious compilation series is absolutely electrifying in its own unique manner.
As the Space Yacht curators themselves exclaim, “Tough house shines a light on the heavier side of house music — a sound somewhere between bass house, electro, and UK bassline. We’ve set out to create a compilation that pays homage to this sound, and although there are many different sonic journeys on the compilation, its through line is four-on-the-floor and bone-shattering drops.” Full of powerful, wide-ranging soundscapes from beginning to end, ‘Tough House Volume 1’ is unlike any other house-driven compilation series we’ve heard before, and luckily, its out now on all streaming platforms for house heads to thoroughly enjoy!
