‘This Is My Church: 20 Years of Electronic Dance Music’ Book, Captured by Rutger Geerling, Sees Release This Fall
Rutger Geerling—known as legendary electronic dance music (EDM) photographer RUDGR—is releasing a unique coffee table book this October. The book titled “This Is My Church,” showcases some of Geerling’s greatest work, which is accompanied by stories from some of the industry’s key players. With the EDM scene exploding across the world, the iconic photographer is releasing a 320-page book, which will be available for a worldwide pre-order starting on July 13.
Some of the biggest acts in electronic music will be featured in “This Is My Church,” including Tiësto, Hardwell, David Guetta, Martin Garrix, Carl Cox, W&W, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Ferry Corsten, and Fedde Le Grand, among others. Trance titan Armin van Buuren has also swapped out his DJ headphones for a pen to write an exclusive foreword for the book.
The book is slated to include DJ interviews, which will coincide with the breathtaking photographs that have been brilliantly captured by RUDGR. Having photographed dance music events and festivals for two decades, Rutger is no stranger to the scene, which is what makes his journey evermore thrilling. Throughout the years he has transformed his skill of capturing parties to works of pure art. He was there at all the defining moments: from the Dutch underground scene in the 90s to the breakthrough of trance by Tiësto and Armin van Buuren. From the success of Tomorrowland, Ultra and Sensation to the crossing of EDM to the USA and from the emergence of new gods like Martin Garrix and Hardwell to the eventual global triumph of the leading musical style of the 21st century.
For a limited time only, buyers will receive a signed copy of “This Is My Church.” The book sees its official release on October 14 during the 2015 Amsterdam Dance Event and will be available exclusively online at thisismychurch.ch.
