The Weeknd Announces ‘Starboy: Legend of the Fall’ World Tour
The Weeknd announces phase one of his 2017 “Starboy: Legend of the Fall” world tour
After spending a month touring Europe, the North American stretch of The Weeknd’s “Starboy: Legend of the Fall” tour will begin April 25th in Vancouver, British Columbia and concludes six weeks later in Cincinnati, Ohio on June 9th, hitting nearly every major city along the way. The tour’s flyer also states that “surprise special guests” for the Starboy: Legend of the Fall trek will be announced. Check out The Weeknd’s website for early access and on-sale information.
Five months after The Weeknd’s last concert, Able Tesfaye returned to the stage to headline Voodoo Music and Arts Experience on Halloween Weekend, where he premiered all new stage production and his latest two singles off of “Starboy”, including “False Alarm” and his collaborative hit “Starboy” featuring the legendary French duo, Daft Punk.
The singer decided to reintroduce a previous theme with the tour title. Back in 2014, around this same time, he released a stand-alone single, “King of the Fall,” which later received a remix featuring Ty Dolla $ign and Belly. While it was released in the fall time, just as these tour details were, there is another connotation implied, best explained by an earlier Weeknd song, “The Fall,” off 2011’s “Echoes of Silence.” It isn’t just that Weeknd rules the season, but he rules the descent as well. He explained the lyrics of that song to Rolling Stone, saying, “in this industry, I’m not really scared of failing, because I already know what it means to be on the ground.”
