ZHU ‘DREAMLAND 2021’ Album Stuns, Secures a Top Album of the Year Spot
A force to be reckoned with, ZHU returns with his third studio album, DREAMLAND 2021, out today (Friday, April 30) on Astralwerks. The multifaceted artist consistently wows electronic lovers with his signature sound — and DREAMLAND 2021 is no exception.
ZHU serves up his distinct sound from the very beginning of DREAMLAND 2021 as “Lost It” kicks off the LP with his notable melodic groove, yet heavy-hitting bass from the start. Follow the “Distant Lights” to track 2, as ZHU goes deep with a tantalizing topline, followed by a seamless transition into “Blue Dream.” DREAMLAND 2021 continues with its groovy, house vibe on “How Does It Feel” ft. Channel Tres, followed by album highlight, “Sky Is Crying” featuring stunning vocals from Yuna.
The week of the DREAMLAND release, ZHU dropped “Yours” feat. Arctic Lake, which secures the 7th spot on the LP’s tracklisting. Joining forces once again with partywithray, “ZHUDIO54” is a cheeky club track, which is chock full of blaring bass, proclaiming: “Make that ass spin round and round, dancing to my disco sound.” Previously revealed “ONLY” feat. Tinashe also thankfully makes the album cut, as DREAMLAND 2021 finishes off strong with “GOOD4U” feat. Koka the Friend, and the downtempo “I Need That” which provides listeners with a sensual and gritty close to the 12-track DREAMLAND journey.
In the year-plus leading up to the highly anticipated DREAMLAND 2021 release, ZHU boasted massive collaborations and remixes, including, but not limited to, “Desire” with Bob Moses, “Follow You” with Kito & Jeremih, “Came For The Low” with partywithray, “Zoning” with the Bloody Beetroots, “Risky Business,” and “I Admit It” feat. 24kGoldn.
In previous years, the beyond-talented DJ/producer/musician/songwriter/performer has gifted fans with masterpiece albums, including his debut GENERATIONWHY in 2016, and RINGOS DESERT in 2018. Two of ZHU’s most-played songs on Spotify include his smash “Faded” as well as “Working For It.” If you have a chance to experience a ZHU live show, we suggest you take it. There’s nothing quite like witnessing his greatness through both his live (and DJ) sets.
